Threshold School of Building

Canada needs more qualified tradespeople. Where will they come from? Unfortunately, most skills training comes while on the job. Today, construction companies want new workers with high levels of skill, but these skills are tough to get for any at-risk youth.

This is where The Threshold School of building comes in. Operating as a not-for-profit organization, it teaches both building and employment-ready skills to youth who are at risk and to those experiencing barriers to employment.

The program covers three important areas:

  1. Ready To Work
  2. General Home Maintenance
  3. Threshold Construction

Generally, those working in the trades are the most familiar with the barriers to entry, remembering their own challenges when they started. The principals and team members at Paradise Decks are no different. The company is a corporate sponsor and participates as a board member, offering advice on the direction the organization takes.
